About Us

As the oldest brass band in milton keynes…

we have a long and interesting heritage. The band owes so much to those who have gone before and this is why present members are determined to keep it going.

Wolverton Town Band was formed in the early locomotive era of Wolverton Works, which opened in 1838.  The band used to compete (earliest records go back to 1909) but we now concentrate on being a local community band. As such, we don’t compete in competitions, we play for our enjoyment and the enoyment of our community of Wolverton. We have traditional engagements that we always strive to give our best at, that include the bi-annual twining weekend,  Remembrance Day, our Chistmas concert and of course the playing/singing of Christmas carols around the tree on Christmas Eve. We also look forward to playing at other engagements around Milton Keynes for the enjoyment of any audience.

We currently practice at The Old Bath House, 205 Stratford Rd, Wolverton, Milton Keynes MK12 5RL – on Monday evenings between 7:30 – 9:30pm (setup from 7:15pm).

If you would like to join us, or learn to play a brass instrument, have a look at our Join Us section.
