Just a quick hello
Hi, I thought I would say a quick hello to tell you a little about me.
I’m Colin, Musical Director (MD) of Wolvertom town band. I have been a musician for over40 years, starting my career witth British Airways Brass Band at 14, and joining the army as a musician at 16 with the Parachute Regiment, bouncing back and forth for some years between the two before moving to Milton Keynes and joining several bands in the area. Eventually ending up at wolverton, where I have played on and off for some 20 years, playing anything from Tuba, to drum kit. (Tuba is my main instrument which I love dearly) I took over as MD in July 2024 and have had the privilage of leading a great family of very accomplished musicians since then.
If you have any questions about the band, or have an urge to play an instrument, feel free to approach me or any member of the band when you see us out and about, and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

This is the first time this event has taken place and Wolverton Town Band have been asked to entertain between 12pm and 1pm on Sunday 13th Sept.
Remembrance Day
As usual, Wolverton Town Band are honoured to be takingpart in this very special and imprtant event. This years Remembrance Day parade takes place on Sunday 8th November.
Postponed
Unfortunately this year’s lantern festival is not going ahead but will be returning in 2027. Wolverton town Band traditionally ply at this vibrant community event
Who doesn't love Christmas?
Our Christmas concert this year takes place on Sunday 13th December at St George The Martyre Church Wolverton. We will be playing between 3pm and 5 pm with music to cover all genres and generations. This is not a secular concert but will be open to all who enjoy music. We shall be singing a couple of carols, but you will be entertained with many contemporary christmas tunes. Tickets will be available on the door for £7.50 for adults Children enter for free and raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the concert. Refreshments will be available for a donation.
Carroling in the streets
For a couple of weeks in December, leading up to our christmas Concert, we will e playing Christmas carols around the streets of Wolverton. This is a fun tradition that brings joy and music to some of our community who maybe can’t get out and hear us any other way. Keep an eye on FB for dates and routes.
Carols around the tree
As has become a really great fun tradition, we will again be playing on Christmas eve on the Town Square, next to the Christmas tree. This is a non secular event, however we will be playing Chritmas carols and hope that members of our community, no matter what you believe, will join us to round off our Christmas season. We will be playing between 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Don’t worry if you think you may get a little chilly, as Mr Beans will be open selling hot drinks and snacks. We look forward to entertaining as many of you as possible.

We are always looking for brass players of all ages, abilities and instruments to join our friendly, community band. We can loan you an instrument. We have players with years of experience who will be able to teach you to play from beginer to band member.
