I started my musical career at school like most people, and soon joined British Airways Brass band. This gave me a good grounding to join the army as a musician, where I was lucky enough to play all over the world, as well as for all kinds of people including royalty. After 40 years of playing with various bands, I have managed to climb to the heights of MD for a band whom I am very proud to lead.<\/span>.<\/p>\n

I started playing at the age of 10 for Bedford Town Band, due to the fact that my grandad was band master (MD). I left when my grandad died. I was 13\/14\u00a0 at the time. I had always missed playing and thought about joining another band, but it wasn’t until Christmas 2023\/2024 that I took up a position with Wolverton Town Band, which I really enjoy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Colin Ruggles, Musical Director. (MD)<\/strong>
Having started playing with his school band at 14, Colin went on to play for British Airways (BA) Brass Band, and then decided to join the army as a musician with the Parachute Regiment. After gaining his wings, Colin left the military band and continued his military career as a paratrooper, but never gave up the love of music. After leaving the army, Colin continued to play with BA, and eventually moved to Milton Keynes and took a place with Wolverton Town Band (WTB) playing bass.
